# Investment DAOs

DAO stands for Decentralized Autonomous Organization. A DAO is a type of organisation that is run using blockchain technology and smart contracts, allowing it to operate autonomously and without the need for a central authority. Investment DAOs are a specific type of DAO that is focused on investing, typically in blockchain-based projects or other forms of cryptocurrency. Investment DAOs are often open-source and decentralised, allowing anyone to participate and potentially earn a return on their investment. However, it is important to note that investing in a DAO carries significant risks, as with any other form of investment, and it is important to carefully research and evaluate any potential investment before committing funds.
